What do you do when your company’s first-ever social campaign needs to reach more than half the country?
Last year, the Bank of England unveiled the UK’s first plastic banknote, which looked and felt dramatically different to the paper notes it replaced.
In the lead up to the launch, the Bank’s communications team was given just four months to achieve a unique objective: 60% of the population had to be aware of #TheNewFiver by the time it was released.
#TheNewFiver campaign was the Bank’s first integrated digital campaign and with that came multiple challenges, both technical and cultural.
- Creating a social media campaign and content strategy for a mass audience.
- Educating senior stakeholders about the value of digital.
- Driving change/innovating in a conservative environment.
