Josh Brown (@ReformedBroker) once quipped that “The evening news has become men in suits and women in pearls reading Twitter to your grandparents.”

As social media continues to outstrip traditional media, and the public grows hungrier for instant stories & reactions from correspondents on the front lines, news organisations are finding ways to bridge this real-time gap on their websites.

A panel of publishing and design experts will examine the current state of social media and news, explore design trends that are allowing news organisations to become nimbler and more real-time, and offer predictions on the future of news consumption on the web.

Speakers:

  • Blundstone Osterberger – Managing Director, Code and Theory
  • James Montgomery – News Director, BBC
  • Richard Moynihan – Social Media Editor, Telegraph Media Group
  • Tom Grinsted – Group Product Manger: Mobile and Devices, The Guardian
