What is Social Media Week

Social Media Week London is 3-day conference that provides the ideas, trends, insights and inspiration to help people and businesses understand how to achieve more in a hyper-connected world. The event features an official event and a series of independent events. We explore the intersection of social technology and creativity with a week of presentations, masterclasses, demos, workshops, conversations, and interactive events.


When does it take place?

The official event sessions takes place from Wednesday Nov. 14th to Friday Nov. 16th, 2018.
There will be a handful of independent events also taking place during the week. The Independent events will be published later in September.


Do I require a Pass to attend?

The official events sessions do require either a Standard or Premium Pass to attend (get your pass here). Both of the paid passes grant access to the official event sessions and opening party, but not to the independent events. There are no day or session passes available.

Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.


Pass Pick-up

Standard & Premium Passes will be available for pickup at QEII Conference Centre in Westminster. Upon arriving to the QEII, simply just display a valid photo ID or passport to our check-in staff and we’ll provide you with your #SMWLDN badge for Official Events. Pass pick up will be open on:

  • Wed Nov. 14:         8.15am to 5.00pm
  • Thu Nov. 15:           8.30am to 5.00pm
  • Fri Nov. 16:           8.30am to 12.00pm

Independent events require that attendees pre-register individually for each one of them.


Are there reserved seats? What happens if an event fills up?

Access to sessions of the official programme are on a first come/first served basis, so make sure you show up early for those sessions you really don’t want to miss in order to secure your seat.


Where are the events hosted? What’s the official venue?

The official venue is Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre.
The front entrance and registration will be through the front entrance glass doors.

Programme

The initial programme will be published on July 25, 2018. Once it is published, you will be able to access it here. You can see all events by date or filter between official and independent events. (Hint: the date of the official sessions are indicated in colour, the date of the independent events are indicated in light grey).

There won’t be a printed programme as it would be difficult to reflect last minute updates. We recommend that you either bookmark the schedule page on your computer or mobile device and that you download the official mobile app. Instructions for the mobile app will be sent to you via email in September when it’s finally launched.


Is there a mobile app for the event?

Yes! We will have new mobile app experience for iOS and Android devices though our technology partner, Topi, that will allow you to connect with other SMW fans and attendees, explore the event programme and speakers, and access exclusive content.
